Translate Foreign Languages in Posts and Chats
This feature allows you to translate foreign languages written in posts and chat rooms into your desired language. Now you can communicate in real-time with overseas collaboration members from around the world.
Moreover, you no longer have to open a separate page for translation and come back to the post to see the original text. You can manage all this in one action ;)
1. Choosing Your Language
You can select the default language for the system and the translation language under 'My Settings' > 'Language'.
a. Language
This is your default language. All system language in morningmate will be set to the language you choose. The translation feature will activate when a language other than your selected one is detected.
b.Translation
This is the language that will be displayed when you choose to translate content. You can select from 48 different languages!
2. Translating Posts
a. Posts
Click the 'Translate' button at the bottom left of a post, and it will automatically translate into your selected language. To view the original text, click the 'See Original' button.
The translation feature works for all content including posts, tasks, events, to-dos, and polls when a foreign language is detected.
Viewing Original Post
To view the original text of a post, click 'See Original' at the bottom left of the post.
b. Comments
Similar to posts, you can translate comments by clicking the 'Translate' button beneath them. However, unlike posts, you can selectively translate individual comments instead of translating them all at once.
Tip!
If a post or comment is written in the same language as your selected translation language, the translation button will not appear.
3. Translating Chats
a. Real-Time Translation
When a language other than your selected one is detected in a chat room, a pop-up will appear asking if you'd like to translate the content in real-time.
By clicking the 'Translate to [Language]' button, all foreign language messages in that chat room will be translated into your selected language.
Viewing Original Chat Message
If you want to see the original text of a chat message, click 'See Original' at the bottom of the message bubble.
For replies to chat messages, the original text of the initial message will be shown (Refer to the image below).
Tip!
Even if you send a message in a foreign language (a language different from your selected one), it will also be translated.
b. Turning Off Real-Time Translation
By clicking 'Stop,' real-time translation will be turned off, and the chat will revert to the original language as written by the sender.
Important Notes
The new translation feature will be applied to any existing posts (including tasks, schedules, polls, etc.), comments, replies, and chats.
