You can control who can view posts within a project by applying visibility permissions, ensuring that only the participants you want to share information with can access it.
This is especially useful when certain information needs to be shared with specific users within the same project. Any files attached to a post are also only accessible to users who have permission to view that post.
1. Default visibility settings
For every post, you can choose one of the following visibility options.
① Project members only
The post is visible only to members participating in the project.
② Project managers only
The post is visible only to users designated as project administrators.
③ Project members and company employees
The post is visible to project members as well as employees within the company.
④ Anyone with the link
Every post has a unique URL. By enabling this option, anyone who has the link can access the post, including external users. (Learn more about public sharing.)
2. Granting additional access to task assignees and event attendees
Users assigned to a task or invited to an event are automatically granted access to the corresponding post, even if they are not included in the default visibility setting.
This allows you to flexibly manage visibility by adding or removing assignees and attendees as needed.
1) Tasks
If a task post's visibility is set to Project Admins Only and you assign a user to the task, that user will be able to view the post even if they are not a project administrator.
Tip!
① Assigned to a subtask, but not assigned to the main parent task
The user can only view the subtask they are assigned to.
The subtask will not appear in the project feed and can only be accessed from the Tasks tab or All Tasks view.
② Assigned to the parent task, but not assigned to a subtask
The user can still view all subtasks under the parent task, even if they are not assigned to those subtasks.
2) Events
If an event post's visibility is set to Project Managers Only and you add attendees to the event, those attendees will be able to view the post even if they are not project administrators.
