Secret Messages are a unique Morningmate chat feature that automatically and permanently deletes messages from the server after a set amount of time. Not only text messages, but also emojis and attached files are removed, making this feature ideal for sharing sensitive information that should not leave a record.
Tip!
Secret Messages are available only for Business accounts. Free plan (external) users cannot send or receive Secret Messages. (Learn more about the Guest account policy.)
1. Send a Secret Message
Click the hourglass icon at the bottom of the chat window to enable Secret Messages.
You can choose an expiration time between 10 and 60 seconds.
Tip!
The countdown starts when each recipient reads the message.
For the sender, the countdown begins immediately after the message is sent, as it is considered read.
For each recipient, the countdown begins when they open the chat room containing the secret message.
If a Secret Message has not been read, it will still be automatically deleted at 12:00 AM (midnight) the following day.
2. Secret Message notifications
When you receive a Secret Message, the push notification will display "(Secret Message)" instead of the message content, helping keep the message confidential even in notifications.
