Each chat room in Morningmate has one or more managers. Chat managers can manage participants in the chat room. Similar to project managers, they can assign other participants as chat managers or remove participants from the chat room.
Tip! Can anyone use the chat manager feature?
Unfortunately, chat manager permissions are not available in 1:1 chats or project chats. This feature is only supported in group chats with multiple participants. (Learn how to invite participants to a chat.)
1. View participants
Click the More (⋮) button in the upper-right corner of the chat room to view all participants.
As with project members, participants are categorized by their role.
Manager: Can assign other participants as managers or remove participants from the chat room.
Employee: A member of your organization.
External member: A collaborator from outside your organization who has been invited to the chat.
2. Assign or remove managers
If you are a chat manager, you can assign manager privileges to other participants or remove manager privileges from existing managers.
Tip!
Every chat room must have at least one manager. If there are multiple managers, you can remove your own manager privileges. However, once removed, you cannot assign yourself as a manager again.
Assign a manager
In the participant list, click More (⋮) → Assign as manager next to the participant you want to promote.
Click Confirm to complete the action. Once assigned, the new manager can manage other participants in the chat room.
Remove manager privileges
To remove manager permissions, click More (⋮) → Remove manager next to the participant's name, then click Confirm.
3. Remove participants
If a participant no longer needs access to the chat room, you can remove them.
In the participant list, click More (⋮) → Remove from chat next to the participant you want to remove.
Click Confirm to complete the action. Once removed, the action is automatically recorded in the chat history.
