Chat managers

You can manage participants in a chat similar to a project by adding or dismissing them as needed. The chat manager has the authority to make these changes.

✔ Tip

The chat manager feature is available only for group chats involving multiple participants and not for one-on-one or project chats. With this feature, participants can be added or dismissed from the chat.

1. How to view chat participants
To check the participants of a chat, click on the three lines located at the top right corner of the chat screen. The list of participants will be displayed in the same format as that of a project, with project managers, internal members, and external members.

The chat managers feature allows you to add new managers or remove participants in a general group chat.

In Morningmate, there are two types of participants: internal members, who are part of your organization or team on the Business Account, and external members, who have been invited to join projects by your organization but are not part of your team.

The participant list is organized in the same way as that in a project - with project managers listed first, followed by internal and external members.

2. Adding & removing chat managers
A chat manager has the ability to add or remove other chat managers in a chat.

✔ Tip

To manage a general group chat, there must be at least one chat manager. If there are multiple managers, you have the option to remove yourself as a chat manager. However, please note that once you remove yourself as a manager, you cannot reverse this action.

Existing chat managers have the ability to add more managers from the participant list. To add a manager, click on the three dots next to the name of the person you want to make a manager and select "Set as Manager". As a chat manager, you can manage the participation of other members.


To remove someone from the chat manager role, you can click on the three dots next to their name and select "Remove Manager."

3. Dismiss participants
To remove participants who no longer need to be involved in a chat, click on the three dots and then select "Dismiss." This will notify the participant that they have been removed from the chat.
