There are two types of chats in Morningmate: General chats and Project chats.
Use each type according to your communication needs and collaboration style.
1. General chat
General Chat is the standard chat type where you directly select participants and create a chat room, similar to other messaging applications.
You can start a chat from:
Chat > New Chat
A user’s profile
Tip!
Both 1:1 chats, group chats (1:N), and chats with yourself are supported.
*Invite participants to a general chat
In a general chat room, click the More (☰) button in the top-right corner to freely invite additional participants.
However, invitations are limited to:
Employees within your company using Morningmate
External collaborators (guest users) currently working with your company
Tip!
If an organization chart is configured, you can invite entire departments or teams at once.
(Learn more about Organization chart management)
2. Project chat
Project Chat is linked directly to a project you are participating in.
Click the Chat button in the bottom-left corner of the project participant list to create a Project Chat.
The chat participants will automatically match the project participants, and you can also move directly from the chat room to the connected project.
1) Manage project chat participants
When a new participant is added to the project, they are automatically added to the Project Chat as well.
Likewise, when a participant leaves the project, they are automatically removed from the Project Chat.
In other words, project participants and Project Chat participants are always synchronized. (It is not possible to leave only the chat room separately.)
Tip!
Administrators can invite or remove participants through Project Participant Management.
2) Move from project chat to the connected project
In the Project Chat room, click the More button in the top-right corner and select Go to Project to move directly to the connected project.
This is useful when you need to create tasks or continue work discussions while chatting.
Tip!
If a project is deleted, the Project Chat created within that project will also be deleted.
