Make the most out of the 'Task' post type to enhance your team's productivity!
You can customize up to 10 different task statuses and track them in real time, along with the assignee, start date, due date, and progress rate.
Shall we take a closer look at morningmate's task posts, one of the platform’s most powerful features for boosting work efficiency? 😊
1. Register a Task post
To register a new task, click on the “Task” button at the top of the project.
Or, you can also select the "Task" tab at the top when creating the post.
(1) Add a Title
When posting a new task, make sure to add a clear and concise title that accurately conveys the content of the task.
Tip!
Using a consistent format for task titles makes it easier to locate tasks quickly. E.g., you can add brackets or colons to indicate the task type, such as [Request] Weekly Report or Request: Weekly Report.
(2) Select a Progress Status
Select the appropriate status based on the task’s progress. If you register the task without making any changes, it will be set to the default status of “Pending.” If needed, you can click the “Edit Status” button to add or modify up to 10 custom statuses for your tasks. (Learn more about customizing statuses)
(3) Add Assignees
Add a member or members responsible for handling the task. You can assign either a single assignee or multiple assignees at once.
Tip!
If needed, you can filter and view only “My Tasks” or “Tasks I Requested” from the the Task Board for easier task management.
(4) Add Start Date & Due Date
Adding start and due dates to each task post helps ensure that no tasks are overlooked.
Tip!
By setting start and due dates, you can use filters or grouping options to easily organize and view tasks by schedule.
Start or due dates must be set to display tasks on the Gantt chart.
(5) Add Priority and Progress
① Priority: You can set a priority level based on the importance of the task, choosing from four levels — Low, Normal, High, or Urgent.
② Progress: Update the task’s progress according to its current status. When assignees update the progress, task requesters can automatically track the status without the need for additional reporting.
2. Write the Task Content
Provide a detailed description of the task in the main content area and register it. Once submitted, notifications will be sent to the assigned assignees and all project members.
Setting clear writing guidelines for each project can help ensure consistency and improve communication.
Tip!
Use the Editing tools at the bottom of the writing screen to insert tables or apply text formatting.
If the task requires more detailed planning, you can add up to five levels of subtasks to break it down into manageable steps.
3. Configure Task Properties
In addition to the default properties such as assignee and priority, you can add custom properties to classify tasks in more detail based on your specific needs and context.
You can also customize status labels on this window.
Tip!
The available property types you can add to a task include Text, Date, Dropdown, Checkbox, People, and Number.
For more details on how to use each property type, you can refer to the full guide [here].
