Make the most out of the 'Task' post type to enhance your team's productivity. This feature allows you to track the progress of tasks with status update options in five steps and the ability to add assignees, start and due dates, and completion rates. All project participants can view the status of tasks in real-time, making it a valuable tool for effective collaboration and project management.
1. Posting
To post a new task, click on the 'Task' button at the top of the project.
Adding a title
When posting a new task, make sure to add a clear and concise title that accurately conveys the content of the task.
✔ Tip A consistent format for task titles can help you quickly find the task you need. For example, you can use brackets or colons to indicate the type of work, followed by the details, such as [Request] Weekly Report or Request: Weekly Report. |
Changing the task progress status
You can change the progress status of a task by selecting one of the five options that best represents the current stage of the task. By default, a new task is created with a status of "Request".
Adding assignee
A task can have multiple assignees, allowing for shared responsibility and collaboration.
✔ Tip You can view all your tasks in a list format. |
Adding start date & due date
By adding start and due dates to a task, you can increase the likelihood of completing it successfully.
✔ Tip By adding start and due dates to your tasks, you can easily sort them by these dates. Additionally, if you use these dates, you can view your tasks in a Gantt chart with bars that visually represent their duration. |
Adding a priority
You can assign a priority level to a task using one of four scales: low, normal, high, or urgent.
Adding a completion rate
By adding a completion rate in percentage, you can effectively communicate your progress on the task to both the poster (requester) and the assignee, making it easier for everyone to stay on track.
2. Adding details of the task
After you have added the task title, include as many details as possible to ensure that assignees and other members understand the task requirements. When you create a post format for different types of tasks, it will be easier for the poster and other members to understand what's required. All project participants will be notified once the task details have been added.
