Pin posts and comments to highlight important posts in your project

Updated this week

You can keep frequently used post formats and/or important information at the top of the page for easy access and visibility by pinning them.

✔ Tip

One project can have up to 100 pinned posts at the top of the page.

1. How to pin a post to the top

You can pin a post to the top of a project by clicking on the pin icon located at the top corner of the post. To unpin a post, click the pin icon again. Pinned posts will be displayed at the top of the project for easy access.

✔ Tip

The ability to unpin a post is limited to project managers and the original poster.

2. Changing the order of the pinned posts

One way to highlight important pinned posts and change their order is by dragging the dots on the left side of the post to rearrange them.

✔ Tip

The order of pinned posts can be changed only by the project managers.

3. Best practices to use the Pin feature

Consider establishing a rule for pinning posts that aligns with your department's tasks or workflows.

  • Best practice 1:
Pin can be used to save a post format that your team uses repeatedly for certain tasks.. This can save time and ensure consistency in the format of the post.

  • Best practice 2:
Pin frequently used post formats and/or important information that all project participants should be aware of to the top of the page. This can help keep everyone informed and save time searching for important information.

  • Best practice 3:
You can use Pin to keep commonly used or co-edited files easily accessible for your team.

4. Pin important comments

This feature allows users to fix specific comments at the top of the comment section so that important information is always visible.

Tip!

  • Pinned comments are visually distinguished with a purple background (same on web and mobile)

1) Original and pinned comments

When a comment is pinned, the original remains in place, and a copy appears at the top. This allows users to track the chronological history of comments.

Tip!

  • Replies to the comment cannot be pinned - only original comments can be pinned (even in the mobile app).

2) Synced interactions

Pinned (copied) and original comments are mostly synchronized across all actions:

  • 👍 Likes: Liking one updates both

  • 💬 Replies: Replies appear on both

  • 🗑️ Deleting: Deleting either one deletes both

  • 🌐 Translation: Only the clicked comment is translated

  • ✏️ Edits: Edits are applied to both the original and copied comments simultaneously

3) Pinned comments in different devices

  • Web

    • Pinned comments always appear at the top. Each post can have up to 10 pinned comments, regardless of whether they were pinned on web or mobile.

    • Pinning a comment is synced in the mobile version, and vice versa.

  • Mobile

    • All pinned comments are shown, regardless of how many you pin.

    • Pinning a comment on the app is available via long tap or pin icon (only on comments, not replies).

4) General policy for pinned comments

  • Pinning permissions
The ability to pin or unpin a comment depends on the project’s comment writing permission settings.

    • If the comment permission is set to "All", any project member can pin comments. If only project managers are allowed to write comments, then only they will be able to pin comments.

    • Unpinning follows the same rules as pinning. However, all members in the project can unpin comments, even if they were pinned by someone else.

  • System comments
System comments are automatically generated by the system, not manually written by a user. They can also be pinned just like regular comments, but:

    • They are not pinned in the "Comment" tab, as system comments are visible only under the "ALL" tab.

    • A maximum of 10 written comments can be pinned, but system comments are not subject to this limit and can be pinned freely.

  • Notifications

    • No notification is sent to the project members when a comment is pinned.
