View project settings in detail

Updated this week

Each project can be customized with different settings and permission options to fit your specific workflow.

Project settings and permissions can be updated even after creation (except for post view permissions).

Review each option to create a project that best suits your needs! 😀

1. Company public project / Admin approval settings

1) Set as a company public project

You can make a project visible so that employees in your company can view it and request to join.

Projects set as company public will be displayed by category under “Company public projects” in the top-left corner of the screen. (See more about Company public projects)

2) Require admin approval to join

You can require approval from a project admin before other users can join the project. This is especially useful for managing participants in:

  • Public projects

  • Projects joined via invitation links

Tip!
This setting is ideal for projects that should be visible to all employees but involve sensitive information or critical work, such as internal operations or management-related projects.

2. Additional options

Click “Additional settings” to configure permissions based on the nature of your project, including:

  • Post creation, editing, and viewing permissions

  • Comment permissions

  • File access and download permissions

1) Post Permissions

You can configure permissions for creating posts, editing posts, viewing posts.

Please note that post view permissions cannot be changed after the project is created, so be sure to set them carefully during setup.

Tip!
Company admins can still modify view permissions from Admin > Project management > All projects, even after the project is created.

2) Comment permissions

You can choose who can write comments:

  • All participants

  • Project admins only

3) File permissions

You can control access and download permissions for files shared within the project.

This is useful for projects that handle confidential or sensitive files, allowing you to manage visibility and downloads accordingly.

Tip! - How to enable collaborative editing for posts
You can set post editing permissions to:

  • Project admins + post author

  • Author only

  • Everyone

For projects like meeting notes or shared resources where collaboration is active, setting editing permissions to Everyone is recommended.

  • If someone other than the author edits a post, a comment will be automatically added to indicate the update.

  • If the author edits their own post, no comment will be generated.

4) Manage participation history visibility

When the participation history feature is enabled, records of members joining or leaving the project will be displayed.

If disabled, these activity records will not be shown.
