You have the option to customize the settings and permissions of each project according to its nature. You can modify these settings and permissions at any time, with the exception of the permission to view posts which cannot be changed once the project has been created.
1. Creating a public project & admin approval needed to join
Creating a Public Project
If you want to allow anyone to join a project, you can create a public project. These projects can be found in the "Public Projects" tab on the left-hand menu of the main page.Approval Required to Join
Alternatively, you can require approval from project managers before someone can join. This is a useful option for managing join requests for public projects, or when you are inviting participants with an invitation link.
2. Customize other permissions
In addition to the project type and access permissions, you can also customize other settings such as posting, viewing, editing, and file downloading permissions according to the requirements of each project.
Post
You have the ability to choose which participants can create and view posts in the project. However, it's important to note that once the project is created, the permission settings for viewing posts cannot be changed.
✔ Tip After a project has been created, the view permission can be modified by admins in the "Project Management" section of the Admin Console. |
File
You have the option to giver permission to all participants or only project managers and posters to view or download files uploaded in a project. If there are external participants in the project, it's recommended to choose the "Project managers & Posters only" option for added security.
Edit
When it comes to editing posts in a project, you have three options for permissions: 'all', 'project managers and posters', or 'posters only'. If you want multiple people to collaborate on editing, then granting permission to everyone might be a good choice. Otherwise, if only a select few should be able to edit, you can restrict editing permissions to project managers and posters or posters only.
✔ Tip - If co-editing is allowed, any edits made by someone other than the original poster will be tracked in the comments section.
- However, if the original poster makes edits, these will not be recorded in the comments section. |
