Morningmate Drive šŸ’¾ — Keep Your Work Files in One Place

šŸ“ Find, view, and share your files with ease šŸ‘šŸ»

Are you constantly digging through project posts to find the files you need for work?

With Morningmate Drive, you can keep work files such as documents and images in one place, open and view them instantly, search for what you need, and securely share files with your teammates—all without the hassle.

1. What is Morningmate Drive?

Morningmate Drive is, simply put, a centralized space for storing and sharing files.

While the existing File Repository only collected files attached to project posts, Morningmate Drive is a standalone cloud storage space where you can upload files directly without creating a post and organize them into folders.

Your files, files shared with you, and attachments from collaboration spaces can all be viewed in one place, making it easy to keep track of your work materials.

Tip!

  • Files attached to project posts that you previously accessed through the File Repository can still be found in the Project File Repository menu in Morningmate Drive.

  • With Morningmate Drive, you can upload files directly without creating a post and organize them freely using folders.

1) Exploring the main screen

The main features of Morningmate Drive are available through the menus on the left side of the screen. Use the left sidebar to quickly navigate to the section you need.

ā‘  Create new: Upload a file or create a new folder.

ā‘” My Drive: View files and folders that you have recently uploaded or created.

ā‘¢ Shared files: View files and folders that others have shared with you. You can find everything shared with you in one place without having to search for individual files.

ā‘£ Recently viewed: View files and images that you have recently opened or modified.

⑤ Favorites: View files and images that you have saved with the star (ā˜…) icon for quick access.

ā‘„ Recycle bin: Deleted files are stored here. You can permanently delete or restore them from the Recycle bin.

⑦ Project File Repository: View all the Morningmate projects you are participating in and access the files you need.

Tip!

Click the Drive logo in the upper-left corner to return to the My Drive home screen at any time.

2. Uploading and creating files

With Morningmate Drive, you can upload files directly or create new folders and documents without creating a separate post.

1) Uploading files using drag and drop

Select the files you want to upload from a folder on your PC, then drag and drop them onto the Morningmate Drive screen. The files will be uploaded immediately.

You can also select multiple files and upload them all at once.

2) Uploading files using the '+ Create new' button

Click the '+ Create new' button at the top of the left sidebar, then select 'Upload files'. You can then select the files you want to upload from your file explorer.

Tip!

  • For security reasons, executable files such as .exe and .dll are automatically blocked from being uploaded.

  • If a file cannot be uploaded, check that you have enough available storage space and that your network connection is working properly.

3) Creating a new folder

Click the '+ Create new' button, select 'New folder', enter a folder name, and click 'Create' to create a new folder.

You can organize your files by storing them in appropriate folders, making it easier to manage and find your work materials.

Tip!

  • Right-click a folder you created to rename it, manage its permissions, or move it to the Recycle bin (delete it).

3. Organizing files

You can create folders to organize your files based on specific criteria, add frequently used files to your favorites, and rename files when needed.

1) Move files to a folder

Drag and drop a file or image onto the desired folder to move it instantly.

2) Select multiple files at once

Use the Shift or Ctrl key to select multiple files at once. You can then download, move, or delete the selected files in bulk.

3) Add files to favorites

Click the star (ā˜†) next to frequently used files or folders to add them to your favorites. You can quickly access all your favorite items from the 'Favorites' menu in the left sidebar.

4) Right-click uploaded files

Right-click a file or folder to access options such as Rename, Preview, Share, Copy link, and Add to/Remove from Favorites.

Tip!

When you select multiple files and download them, they are bundled and downloaded as a single ZIP file (compressed file).

4. Searching and previewing files

Morningmate Drive provides powerful search capabilities that allow you to find not only file names but also content within documents. You can also preview files without downloading them.

1) Find files using search

Enter a keyword in the 'Search Drive' field at the top of the screen to search both file names and document content.

2) Narrow down results with type filters

If there are too many search results, use the 'Type' filter in the upper-right corner. You can filter results by file type, such as documents, spreadsheets, presentations, PDFs, images, videos, and compressed files, to find what you need more quickly.

3) Preview files

Double-click a file to open the preview screen. You can also use the left and right arrows to navigate between files.

Tip!

  • It may take some time for the content of a newly uploaded file to become searchable. File name searches are available immediately.

  • ZIP files are downloaded directly without a preview.

  • The following file formats can be previewed without installing additional software:

    • Office documents: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

    • Korean documents: HWP

    • PDF documents

    • Images: JPG, PNG, GIF

    • Text files: TXT

5. Sharing and managing permissions

You can share files stored in Morningmate Drive directly with team members or securely share them with external partners via a link. You can also set detailed access permissions for individual files and folders.

1) Share with team members

Click 'Share' on a file or folder, then select a department or individual from the organization chart to invite them. When sending an invitation, you can assign one of three permission levels: Viewer, Editor, or Owner.

You can either search for the desired team member and invite them directly or click 'Invite from organization chart' to select a department or individual.

2) Share via an external link

When you need to share a file with an external partner or collaborator, use the 'Create sharing link' feature. You can configure security options to keep your files protected.

  • Set password: Protect the link with a 4-digit password.

  • Set expiration date: Choose from 1, 7, 30, or 90 days.

  • Limit downloads: The link is automatically deactivated once the maximum number of downloads is reached.

  • Display watermark for viewers: A watermark showing the viewer's name is displayed when they view images or other files.

3) Learn about available permission levels

Permission

What you can do

Owner

Full management permissions, including deleting files, changing permissions, and sharing externally

Editor

View, download, rename, and move files

Viewer

View and download files

4) Change permissions

You can change the permissions of existing members from the file's 'Share' settings. Click the dropdown next to a permission level and select Viewer, Editor, or Owner.

Tip!

  • External sharing links can only be created after setting a password and expiration date, helping prevent unauthorized distribution.

  • Invited users cannot be assigned Owner permissions. The Owner is automatically assigned to the person who originally uploaded the file.

  • You can also invite entire departments, making it convenient to manage files for large teams.

6. Trash — permanently delete and restore files

Files and images deleted from Morningmate Drive are moved to 'Trash'. From the Trash, you can restore files or permanently delete them at any time.

1) Move files to Trash

Right-click the file you want to delete in Morningmate Drive and select 'Move to Trash'. The file is immediately moved to the Trash and excluded from search results.

2) Restore or permanently delete files

Go to 'Trash' in the left sidebar to view deleted files. Right-click the file you want to restore or permanently delete, then select the appropriate option. You can also click the More (Ā·Ā·Ā·) button next to a deleted file to access these options.

Tip!

  • Files stored in the Trash are not automatically deleted. They remain safely stored until you permanently delete them.

  • āš ļø Files that have been permanently deleted cannot be restored. Please proceed with caution.

7. Project files

Attachments uploaded to posts, comments, and replies in your participating projects are automatically collected in 'Project files'. Each file indicates where it was originally attached, making it easy to view all project-related materials in one place.

1) View project files

Click 'Project files' in the left sidebar of Morningmate Drive to see the projects you are participating in displayed as cards. Select a project to view its attached files.

2) Search for a project

If you are participating in many projects, enter the project name in the 'Search projects...' field at the top to quickly find the project you need.
