[GWS x MM] Using Gmail dynamic email (AMP) for task notifications

Updated this week

1. What is Gmail dynamic email (AMP)?

Gmail dynamic email (AMP for Email) allows users to view real-time updates and interact directly within Gmail.

By integrating this feature with Morningmate, you can receive email notifications when you are assigned to a task or when a task status is updated.

You can also take action directly within the email—such as clicking “Like” or updating the task status—without opening Morningmate.

Notifications are also sent via the mobile app when you are assigned as a task owner.

2. Receiving and sending task notifications via Gmail

Tip!

All email notifications are sent on a 1-minute interval.

  • For example, if a task is assigned at 9:40:30 AM, the email will be sent at 9:41 AM (rounded up to the next minute).
However, if the assigned user views the task within 1 minute, the email notification will not be sent.

1) When are dynamic email notifications are triggered?

(1) When you are assigned to a task

If another project member assigns you as the owner of a task or subtask, you will receive an email notification if the task is not viewed within 1 minute.

Tip!

  • No notification is sent when you assign yourself to a task.

  • Gmail content is limited to 300 characters; any additional text will be truncated.

  • Email notifications are only sent when the task is in the “Request (Pending)” status at the time of assignment. If the task is created in another status, no email will be sent.

(2) When a task status is updated

When a task status changes (e.g., from “Request” to “Progress,” or from “Progress” to “Feedback”), an email notification is sent to the task creator (requester).

Tip!
Even if the status is updated by a project member who is not assigned to the task, the email notification will still be sent via Gmail.

3. Responding to tasks directly in Gmail

When you are assigned as a task owner, you can respond directly from the dynamic email notification.

1) Responding when assigned to a new task

Available actions

  • Okay!: Will send an acknowledgment ("Like") to the requester.

  • Working on it!: Will update the progress status from "Request" to "Progress."

Tip!

  • You can remove a “Like” in Gmail, but you cannot revert a task once it has been marked as “In Progress.”

  • Once the task status changes to “In Progress,” the “I will start this task” button will no longer be displayed.

2) Responding to task status updates

Available action

  • Thank you!: Will send an acknowledgment ("Like") on the progress update comment.

4. Configuring email notification settings

You can customize email notification settings in Morningmate.

  • Go to Profile (top right) → settings → notifications
