[COMING SOON][GWS x MM] Receive Task Notifications and status updates via Email
Updated this week

1. What is Task Notification?

A task notification is an email alert sent to users when they are assigned a task or when the task’s progress status changes. These notifications keep users informed of key updates and ensure timely task action.

Also, users can interact and reply directly from the email notification by using options such as the 'Like' button or updating the task progress.

These task notifications will be sent to the assignee, even if the task was assigned through the mobile app.

2. How are Task Notifications Sent and Received?

Tip!

All types of email notifications are sent every minute.

For example, if you assign the task at 09:43:30, the email will be triggered to be sent out at 09:44:00, rounding to the next minute.

However, if the assignee has checked the task within a minute after the assignee has been tagged, the email will not be sent out.

📢 Emails are triggered by two events:

1) When a task is assigned to you

You will receive an email when someone tags you as the assignee of the task and the subtask.

Tip!

  • Emails will not be sent if you assign a task to yourself.

  • The content of the task in the email is limited to 300 words; additional text will not be shown.

  • Emails are only sent when the task is assigned in the "Request" status. They will not be sent in other status.

2) When the progress status of the task is updated

The creator (requester) of the task will be notified whenever the task status changes from 'Request' to 'Progress,' or from 'Progress' to 'Feedback.'

Tip!

The email will still be sent out even if a project member who is not directly involved with the task changes the status of the post.

3. Reply directly from the email

Without having to navigate through morningmate to check the post you've been assigned to, you can easily send your reply directly through the notification email.

1) New task assignment email

  • Reply Options:

    • Okay!: Will send an acknowledgment ("Like") to the requester.

    • Working on it!: Will update the progress status from "Request" to "Progress."

Tip!

  • You can undo the "Like" from the email, but you cannot undo the change in the progress status.

  • Once the task is marked as "Progress," the "Working on it!" button in the email will disappear.

2) Status update email

  • Reply Options:

    • Thank you!: Will send an acknowledgment ("Like") on the progress update comment.

Tip!

Replying directly from the email (liking or changing the status) is only available if your morningmate account was created from or using the Google email platform.

If your account is not linked to Google (e.g., Yahoo, AOL, Outlook), you'll still receive task notification emails, but you won't have the option to reply directly from the email.

4. Configure Notification Options

You can always choose to receive the notifications you want in My Settings:

1) Go to your Settings > [Notifications]

2) Scroll down to the "Email" section and select the cases for which you want to receive updates.

  1. @ mentions of me: Notifications for posts or comments where I am mentioned (@).

  2. Tasks assigned to me: Notifications for when a new task is assigned to me or when I am designated as the assignee of an existing task.

  3. Changes in the status of tasks I've requested: Notifications about changes in the progress status (e.g., Request/Progress/Feedback/Complete/Hold), start date, due date, or priority of tasks I have requested.

  4. Weekly Report: We're working hard to enhance this service with better features to support you. Thank you for your patience as we continue with the development!
